Impact Changed Life Stories
Changed life stories are what our ministry is all about. We want you to check out how God is moving through this ministry through these powerful stories.
Founded: The Impact Movement began as a conference for college students founded by Tom Fritz in 1991. We are now a movement reaching thousands of college students of African descent on the college campus, ministering to the community and expanding our scope around the world.
Mission: The Impact Movement takes the truth of Jesus Christ to the campus, community and world by producing leaders of African descent who are spiritually focused, financially responsible and morally fit.
Vision: The Impact Movement envisions each community of African descent fulfilling its destiny as a reflection of the redemptive power of Jesus Christ.
Number of Impact Chapters: Approximately 80 college chapters in the U.S. where we have a chapter or presence on a campus.* A chapter is defined as at least 10 students living out the mission of The Impact Movement.
Number of National Impact Conference particpants since 1991: More than 16,000
Number of short- term missionaries sent to Africa: More than 400.
Headquarters: Atlanta, Georgia.
§Charles Gilmer is the Founding President of The Impact Movement Inc. The Impact Movement was incorporated in July of 2002. Jimmie McGee is the current President.
§Operation Sunrise Africa was the largest short-term missions mobilization of African Americans to Africa ever. The vision was to reach 50 million people, in 50 cites, in 50 days with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
§ On June 19, 2009, the book A Cry of Hope, A Call to Action was released. In this thought-provoking piece, Charles Gilmer:
– Challenges traditional thinking on racial diversity
– Exhorts the need to develop Black leaders in college
– Dispels the myth that college is enough to create Black leaders
– Chronicles the emergence of The Impact Movement that is producing thousands of Black leaders internationally
