Why Impact?

In The Impact Movement, we are actively seeing the dream of spiritual progress being fulfilled in today’s generation of African Americans, as we also set the stage to affect change in generations to come. The story of our people, with its struggles and triumphs is known all over the world. Our culture is being exported around the globe, as our athletes and entertainers are marketed globally and other prominent figures are stepping into leadership positions in some of America’s largest corporations. We believe that God did not allow our ancestors’ suffering, nor provide our community its current platform for any reason other than to bring glory and honor to Himself. Our prayer is that God may lead you to join us as we mobilize African American leaders to reach the spiritually lost and build believers on campuses, in our community, in Africa and the Diaspora.

There is a Huge Need for Missionaries of African-Descent!

Historically, in the African-American community, the missionary of the past is the image of the older mothers of the church, dressed in their linen whites, who worked diligently in local missions to care for the homeless and visit the sick and shut in. In addition, African-American missionaries such as Lott Carey have blazed a trail of successful international missions for today’s missionaries to look back to for inspiration in our current role as ambassadors for Jesus Christ in our generation.

The nation and the global community is calling for spiritual change, and God is responding by raising up African-American men and women with a determined vision to educate the masses on the truth about Jesus, as each one reaches one for eternity. In The Impact Movement, we are supporting this awesome move of God as we labor in the vision of the ministry and become a movement of long-term sustainability.

Entering into the world of missions is both exciting and life changing. For a follower of Christ who is graduating from college, to one who has spent dedicated years working in the professional realm, the opportunity to engage in full-time ministry can be incredible. However, there is no need more pressing than discerning God’s will in such an opportunity.

We wish we could tell you exactly what the Lord wants you to do, but we can’t. We can tell you that if you desire to do God’s will above all else, He will make His will known to you. That is a comforting truth. What we offer here is the collected wisdom of many years of processing God’s will with those contemplating joining our ministry through personal staff testimonies. We hope you’ll find it helpful and that you’ll get at least a few of your questions answered.
